Your path towards healing starts here...
Not every wellness journey is alike, and your emotional support should reflect that.
At Road To Wellness, we specialize in three deeply personal, tender, and transformative health and wellness paths: family building through assisted reproductive technologies, physician-assisted weight management, and menopause transitions. We offer culturally responsive mental health support for women—particularly women of color and LGBTQ+ individuals—who are navigating:

-
Family building via assisted reproductive technologies (IUI, IVF, egg/sperm/embryo donation, and surrogacy)
-
Physician assisted weight management journeys, including gastric sleeve surgery, gastric bypass, and GLP-1 medications
-
The complex emotional, relational, and identity shifts that often accompany the perimenopausal transition.
By focusing on these three areas, we provide care that is informed, affirming, and sensitive to the emotional, physical, and identity-related complexities involved. Our approach is authentic, compassionate, trauma-informed, and rooted in cultural humilitand the belief that your unique body, story, and journey deserve a safe space to be seen and heard.

About Dr. Grier
Hello! I’m Dr. Aleesha Grier, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with more than 15 years of experience supporting women — including those who identify as LGBTQ+ — through some of life’s most complex and deeply personal transitions. Earlier in my career, I worked in an integrated medical and behavioral health setting, partnering closely with primary care and specialty physicians. That work strengthened my appreciation for the mind–body connection and the power of coordinated, whole‑person care. In therapy, though, the focus shifts entirely to you — your unique story, your strengths, your resilience, and the direction you want your life to move. My role is to help you make meaning of your experiences and support the changes you’re ready to create. My clinical work centers on women’s health, including infertility, assisted reproductive technologies (IVF, IUI), donor conception, miscarriage, pregnancy after loss, and the emotional impact of long fertility journeys. I also support women navigating perimenopause and the identity shifts that often accompany midlife transitions. I work with individuals undergoing physician‑guided weight management, including bariatric surgery and GLP‑1 treatment, and I have extensive experience completing psychological evaluations for pre‑bariatric surgery candidates as well as egg, embryo, and sperm recipient candidates in third‑party reproduction. These evaluations are not just clinical requirements — they’re opportunities to ensure you feel informed, prepared, and supported. My style is thoughtful, direct, and compassionate. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and psychodynamic principles, all through a trauma‑informed and culturally responsive lens. I believe therapy should feel steady, affirming, and grounded in real life. Outside of my professional work, I’m a busy mom, devoted dog lover, avid theatergoer, fitness enthusiast, and someone who always has a book nearby. I also love cheering on the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team. These parts of my life keep me grounded and curious — and remind me that growth, strength, and joy can coexist, even during challenging seasons. If you’re here, you may be carrying more than you’ve been able to put into words. My hope is that Road To Wellness can be a place where you feel supported enough to unpack it — and strong enough to move forward.
